Why Tip on StyleSeat?

Tipping on StyleSeat is quick and easy. We’ve set up multiple options for you to secure your tip through our app. StyleSeat allows you to automatically tip your professional via the credit card used to book your appointment. You can tip on the spot after your appointment or set it and forget it with a default tip amount that will be automatically charged 24 hours after your appointment ends.

What To Expect

Tip at checkout using your professional's mobile device

Your professional will pass you their device with your appointment details. Select the amount you wish to tip, sign the screen, and click Approve. Once you’re finished, checkout will be completed, and your professional will be paid instantly.

Tip after you leave the salon 

When your appointment is over, you’ll be sent a link from StyleSeat to leave a review and confirm your tip. By clicking this link, you can set a custom tip for that particular appointment or choose not to tip at all.

NOTE: If you don’t specify the tip amount or decline tipping from that link, the default tip you’ve selected in your account settings will be applied. Default tips set to 0% will never charge a tip.

Can I update my tip?

When your appointment is over, if you coordinate the tip in-person from your professional's mobile device, your tip will be final. If your professional set your appointment to automatically checkout via your card on file, you’ll be sent a link from StyleSeat to leave a review and confirm your tip. By clicking this link, you can adjust your tip.

Can I update my card on file for the tip?

Your tip will be charged to the card on file for your appointment. If you want to update the card on file, you can do so before the appointment is checked out. 

I’m paying with Klarna. Why am I being asked to tip before checkout?

Right now, Klarna payments are non-adjustable, which means the price you confirm at booking is locked-in. Because the price at booking is final with Klarna, you will have the option to select a tip at booking, before checkout. If you prefer to wait until after your service to tip, you will need to pay for your tip with another payment method outside of StyleSeat.

I don’t want to tip on StyleSeat. How do I tip in cash?

If you would prefer to tip in cash or with a different payment method, just be sure to update your tip on StyleSeat after the appointment. Using the link sent to you after your appointment, you can set the tip amount to $0 or decline to tip on StyleSeat. If you don't specify the tip amount or decline it from the link, your default tip setup in your account will be applied. Default tips set to 0% will never charge a tip!
