Why am I charged a booking fee?

  • We always aim to provide a smooth booking experience from reminders to re-book, to paying for an appointment in just a few taps. 
  • In order to provide a safe and secure platform for both our clients and professionals, StyleSeat charges a booking fee to cover the operational costs of providing a smooth booking experience. This will require a credit/debit card to be added at the time of booking. The booking fee will power things like customer support, new feature development, and security measures. This is standard practice that other similar platforms use.  
  • If your Pro cancels your appointment outside of their no-show/late cancelation policy window, the booking fee will be refunded back to your card. If the appointment is rescheduled, you will not be charged a new booking fee.
  • For some appointments, an additional authorization may appear on your bank statement. This is a temporary measure to ensure that the card used for booking has adequate funds for the service(s) scheduled.  An official charge to your card will be applied at checkout once the final service total is determined by your professional.

NOTE: The booking fee cost will vary based on the overall appointment cost, the booking fee will be between $1-$10 but is typically under $5. If you feel you need a refund for a booking fee, feel free to contact StyleSeat Customer Service.
