Article summary: Information on our Deposits feature and commonly asked questions.
What is a Deposit?
A deposit is a commitment between you and your Professional to secure your appointment slot. When you make a deposit, it not only confirms your booking but also contributes to the total cost of your service. This process ensures that your Pro is specifically reserved for you, fully prepared to deliver the exceptional service you expect.
Please note, deposits are not refundable and require a credit or debit card at the time of booking.
Choosing to pay your deposit through StyleSeat is the safest and most secure method. It offers you peace of mind, knowing that your payment is protected. StyleSeat cannot extend payment protection to deposits made through third-party processors like PayPal or Venmo. Using StyleSeat for your deposit ensures transparency and security for both you and your Pro.
What if the Pro cancels the appointment?
We understand that plans can change. If your Pro cancels your appointment without rescheduling, please reach out to your professional to coordinate a refund on your deposit. Our Support team is also available to help, please submit a request for assistance here and our team will provide steps to recover your deposit.
Note: If your Pro cancels your appointment outside of their no-show/late cancelation policy window, the booking fee will be refunded back to your card.
What if I need to cancel the appointment?
While deposits are non-refundable, we encourage you to contact your Pro if you believe your situation warrants an exception. While StyleSeat itself is unable to issue refunds for deposits on behalf of your stylist, we encourage open and understanding communication between you and your Pro.
If the appointment is rescheduled, you will not be charged a new deposit. Your initial deposit will apply to the rescheduled appointment.
What if I don’t want to pay a deposit to my professional?
We understand that individual circumstances may vary, and exceptions can sometimes be made. Deposits can be waived at the discretion of our professionals under certain circumstances. If you believe you have a valid reason for waiving the deposit, we encourage you to discuss this directly with your professional.
